XRP Ledger Weekly Data Report — Week of October 5–11, 2026

How to read this report

Every metric below carries its source and its snapshot date, and we do not publish figures we cannot trace to a public source. Where two methodologies disagree — circulating supply is the standing case — we show both and say why. Where a metric's freshest verified reading is older than this week, we date it honestly rather than extrapolate. This week the policy cut in two directions at once. Price was unusually well documented, because a violent week generates abundant reference points: seven dated daily closes, a clean weekly range, and independent confirmations of the Sunday mark. Structure was unusually poorly documented in one specific place — escrow, where no cycle ran and therefore no fresh ledger read exists — and unusually well documented in another, because the amendment activations produced ledger-level timestamps rather than projections. Both categories are labelled.

Two mechanical rules follow. First, we do not average across methodologies: the market-data circulating figure and the ledger-basis figure are published side by side with their sources, never blended. Second, we do not refresh a metric for appearance's sake — the escrow line, the burn line, the activation count and the custody map are all carried with their original dates because nothing new was published, and carrying a September reading into an October table is less dishonest than inventing an October one. Derived lines are marked calculated with their inputs shown.

So that the reader can see exactly how much of this report is this week's and how much is inherited, here is the verification log for the edition.

5Week range$1.3217–$1.5285Low $1.3217 (Oct 8), high $1.5285 (Oct 5); closes 1.5074 / 1.4973 / 1.4213 / 1.3790 / 1.3953 / 1.4017 / 1.3946 — a 13.6% spread against last week's four-cent bandYahoo Finance OHLC, Oct 5–11

The tape story of the week is a two-stage break followed by three flat sessions. Through Tuesday, XRP held above $1.49 and the week looked like a drift. Wednesday's close of $1.4213 gave up 5.1% in one session, Thursday extended to $1.3790 on an intraday low of $1.3217, and then Friday, Saturday and Sunday printed $1.3953, $1.4017 and $1.3946 — a 1.6% spread across three sessions, which is what a market looks like when the selling has stopped rather than when it has been absorbed. Volume confirms the sequence: $4.52B traded on Oct 8 and $3.41B on Oct 7 against $0.83B on Oct 11 (Yahoo Finance daily series).

The weekly change needs its endpoints named, because the same week reads three ways. On this site's series — the prior edition's published Oct 4 close of $1.5202 against the Oct 11 close of $1.3946 — the week is −8.3%. CoinGecko-anchored reviews that measure from early Sunday to early Sunday print −5.8%, because they cut before Sunday's session and start from a different intraday mark; five-session measures print between −8.2% and −9%. All three are true at their own cuts. The cross-asset frame on the same Gecko basis: Bitcoin −2.1% to $82,922 (low $80,652 on Thursday), Ether −6.8%, Solana −8.1%, with XRP's decline between Ether and Solana rather than at either extreme (CryptoTicker week-41 review, CoinGecko hourly, Oct 4–11). Total crypto capitalisation fell to $2.81 trillion with Bitcoin dominance at 59.1–59.6% and the Fear & Greed index at 61, still in greed (CryptoTicker; TokenPost; MarketAlleys, Oct 11).

One macro derivation belongs here because it explains the ordering of the pain. The Federal Reserve's September minutes, published Wednesday, showed most participants favouring a further rate increase before year-end against a funds rate already at 3.75–4.00%; the 10-year Treasury yield sat at 5.22% (−6bp Thursday) and forced liquidations reached roughly $1.12 billion across crypto on Oct 8, about $1.04 billion of it long (~93%) (Fed minutes via CryptoTicker; MarketAlleys; CoinGlass via Yahoo Finance, TokenPost and CryptoTimes). XRP's own liquidation print was about $34 million over 24 hours — the fourth-largest named single-asset tally in the cascade (behind Ether's $318M, Bitcoin's $286M and Solana's $67M), but still only a sliver of XRP's own $87.6B market cap.

2. Supply, custody & escrow

7Circulating supply (ledger basis)~68.4B XRPCarried from XRPScan's post-cycle read of 68.42B (Oct 1); no new ledger-supply print was published inside this window. Site map arithmetic (100 − 31.54 − 0.531 − 0.014) ≈ 67.9B; the gap is the lost-coin conventionXRPScan via Finbold, Oct 1 (carried); calculated

13Corporate treasury holdings~473M XRP (Evernorth)Official closing figure, replacing the ~347M pre-closing figure carried in prior editions; ~$665M at the Oct 10 mark. The largest publicly traded pure-play XRP treasury, with its Nasdaq debut deferred to the coming weekEvernorth filings via CoinGabbar, Oct 10

The escrow line is deliberately empty this week, and that is the finding. XRP's escrow mechanism runs a monthly cycle and October's executed on the first of the month — inside the prior window. Nothing about that mechanism is restated here as this week's news, which is the discipline the reader should expect: a carried number with a date is information, and a carried number presented as a fresh reading is not. What the carried number still tells us is that 31.54 billion XRP (31.6% of supply) sits in known, schedulable, contract-bound escrow, and that the supply which actually circulates is a smaller and more mechanical quantity than the 100 billion headline implies.

The custody map is unchanged and still does the structural work. Exchanges (20.32 billion, Sep 26 read) hold roughly seventeen times what the ETF complex does (1.18 billion), and the two venue-level reads published this week make that concentration concrete: Binance's XRP reserve stood near 2.62 billion XRP, the highest in roughly 69 days, while Binance and Upbit shed a combined ~104.7 million XRP between late September and early October (CryptoQuant via ICOBench and BigGo Finance, Oct 5–8). Those two facts are consistent — a rise in one venue's inventory alongside net withdrawals across two — because they measure different windows and different things. The one new official figure is the treasury line: Evernorth's ~473 million XRP at closing, up from the ~347 million pre-closing stack, with roughly 126 million of the difference arriving as contributions in kind from backers who now hold equity rather than tokens.

3. Network activity

15Ledger transfer volume~596.2M XRP/dayBelow the baseline set after the breakout from the old $0.20–$0.60 range — the same cool-side reading the prior edition recorded for payment volumeCryptoQuant's R3N_Research via ICOBench, Oct
16Amendments active97 activated94 before this window, plus the three that activated Oct 8–9: PermissionDelegationV1_1, fixBatchV1_2 and BatchV1_1 — the ledger's busiest protocol window of 2026Ledger read via CryptoTicker, Oct 8; RippleCoinNews, Oct 9
17AI-agent payments (x402)10M+ settled all-timeCarried: the ~600,000/day run rate and the 161-merchant AI Hub figures are the prior edition's; no fresh read published this weekRippleX; t54 Labs AI Hub, Oct 1 (carried)
18Settlement finality3–5 secondsProtocol design constant; consensus, not miningXRPL protocol specification

The network section's news is protocol rather than throughput, and it is the strongest single item in this report. Three amendments activated inside eighteen hours: PermissionDelegationV1_1 on Oct 8 at ~21:25 UTC, then fixBatchV1_2 at ~14:12 UTC and BatchV1_1 at ~14:46 UTC on Oct 9 — all three on their projected schedules (ledger reads via CryptoTicker; RippleCoinNews; Gate.io; KuCoin). The activation window matters to operators as well as developers: servers still running pre-3.4.1 builds become amendment blocked and cannot track consensus until upgraded to xrpld 3.4.1, which makes the week's validator-upgrade rate a live reliability metric rather than a housekeeping one. The 596.2 million XRP/day transfer-volume read is the honest counterweight: protocol capability grew materially while on-ledger value movement cooled, and this report shows both rather than reporting the flattering half.

Two framing notes. First, "93 amendments active" became "97" not because anyone added four — the count in the prior edition's ledger read was 94, and the difference is the three activations plus counting convention. The number to hold onto is three activations in one window, which is unprecedented for this ledger. Second, the transaction line stays carried at September's 2.4M/day. The temptation is to describe a busy week as a busy network; the data available does not support it, because no fresh verified daily count was published. What the week's data does support is that the capability of the ledger changed while the load on it did not — a description that fits a protocol shipping institutional primitives ahead of the demand for them, which is exactly this site's read of the whole year.

4. RLUSD stablecoin

#MetricValueContext / changeSource, date
19RLUSD total supply~$2.53BUp from ~$2.52B last edition; now the eighth-largest stablecoin overall, with PayPal USD at ~$2.88B next up the listDefiLlama via Stablecoin Insider / U.Today, Oct 7
20RLUSD circulating vs reserves$2.5098B / $2.6338BIssuer dashboard at the start of the month; reserves above circulation by ~$124MRipple transparency dashboard, Oct 1
21RLUSD on the XRP Ledger~$1.24BCarried — last chain-split read is Oct 3–4 and no fresh one was published inside Oct 5–11. ~49% of total supply sits on XRPL, making the ledger a core venue rather than a marginal deployment; RLUSD is ~93% of XRPL's stablecoin valueDefiLlama via AirdropHotList / The Coin Republic, Oct 3–4 (carried)
22XRPL stablecoin market cap~$1.33BCarried — the last dated ledger-wide read is Oct 3 and no fresh print was published inside Oct 5–11, so no seven-day change is claimed as this week's. Composition from the same read: RLUSD ~93% (~$1.24B); Valtorum USD ~$72.77M; EUR CoinVertible ~$11.24M; USDC ~$4.61M. Within ~$60M of Plasma (~$1.36B) and Avalanche (~$1.39B)DefiLlama via The Coin Republic / AirdropHotList / CryptoCompass, Oct 3–4 (carried)

RLUSD's week was a level story rather than a growth story, and the level is now large enough to sit in a stablecoin table rather than a footnote. Crossing $2.5 billion puts the token eighth by supply, ahead of every issuer except the six majors and closing on PayPal USD; the issuer's own dashboard had circulating at $2.5098B against $2.6338B of reserves at the start of the month, a ~$124M cushion that is normal for the model. The operational event was a 30-million single-transaction mint from the Ripple treasury — worth reporting with the standing caveat that mints are not supply growth, because Ripple mints and burns against customer issuance and redemption, so a large mint says a client funded an account rather than that the float expanded (U.Today via LeoDex, Oct 7).

The ledger-side numbers are the more interesting half, but they are carried rather than fresh, and that distinction is the point. The most recent dated ledger-wide read puts XRPL's stablecoin base at ~$1.33 billion on Oct 3 — outside this window — of which RLUSD is ~93% — about $1.24 billion. The long tail is thin: Valtorum USD at ~$72.77M, EUR CoinVertible at ~$11.24M, and USDC at only ~$4.61M despite Circle launching natively on the ledger in June 2025 with direct Circle Mint support. That last figure is the one to remember. A natively supported, globally distributed stablecoin holding 0.35% of the ledger's stablecoin value is evidence that XRPL's dollar liquidity is currently a Ripple distribution story rather than a multi-issuer market, and it is why this report treats the supply chart as a starting point. The metric that would change that read is trust lines — every RLUSD trust line requires an XRP account reserve — and no fresh trust-line count was published this week, so it is not printed.

The ETF week is the cleanest natural experiment the XRP complex has produced in months, because for once the comparison is total. XRP funds took in $11.31 million while Bitcoin, Ether and Solana funds collectively lost $1.248 billion — a ratio that makes the XRP number, in isolation, almost irrelevant: it offsets less than 1% of what the other three categories shed. What it does establish, and what streaks are actually good for, is direction. Thirteen consecutive weekly creations means the product set has not entered a redemption regime, in a week when the asset fell 8.3% and the three largest categories ran for the exits. The timing of the two positive sessions is the detail with interpretation in it: Tuesday and Thursday, bracketing Thursday's capitulation low, which reads as a counterparty using the flush rather than momentum buying into strength (SoSoValue via TheCryptoDesk; CryptoSlate via CoinMarketCal).

The level arithmetic is where the week's damage actually shows. Net assets fell to $1.57 billion from $1.66 billion even though flows were positive, which means the entire decline was mark-to-market — and it pushed the gap between lifetime contributed capital and marked assets from roughly $133M to over $200 million (calculated: $1.80B cumulative less $1.57B of assets). Expressed as a ratio, fund assets now equal about 1.80% of XRP's market capitalisation, up from 1.79% a week earlier — the wrapper's share of the float grew during a week in which everything about the wrapper's mark fell. Fund-level detail from CoinGabbar's Oct 10 read: Bitwise $687.74M cumulative on $581.33M of assets, Franklin $509.15M on $413.96M, Canary $486.81M on $339.78M, Grayscale $145.38M on $90.46M, and 21Shares still net-negative at −$21.15M on a $148.58M book.

The derivatives picture is the part of this report that most contradicts the price. XRP fell 8.3% and its full-market open interest ended the week at $3.15 billion, down only 1.63% on the day and roughly a quarter below September's $4.10 billion record — which is to say the leverage book drained through the decline rather than being liquidated against it (CoinGlass via CoinGabbar; EconoTimes). The confirmation is in the microstructure: funding at 0.0011% on the 8-hour clock, which is the signature of an unwind that has finished rather than one in progress, and a Binance venue book of $407.6 million notional with the taker buy/sell ratio at 0.9212 — marginally more aggressive selling, described as balanced order flow. Account positioning remains crowded long (2.43 by account, 2.82 among top traders) while the aggregate position ratio printed 0.9077, below 1. Those two readings describe different populations and this report prints both rather than choosing. The compositional fact that ties it together: $1.12 billion of crypto was liquidated on Oct 8 and XRP accounted for about $34 million of it over the same 24 hours. The selling came from elsewhere and used XRP as liquidity.

Sentiment & the week ahead

Sentiment did not break with price, which is its own kind of datum. The Fear & Greed index closed the week at 61 — still greed — with Bitcoin dominance at 59.1–59.6% and total crypto capitalisation at $2.81 trillion, down 2.96% on the day but far above where a genuine risk-off would put it (CryptoTicker; TokenPost, Oct 11). The mechanical reads agree that the flush was positional rather than psychological: funding at zero, open interest a quarter off its record, and XRP's own liquidation print of about $34 million against $1.12 billion market-wide — small relative to its $87.6 billion market cap, but the fourth-largest named single-asset tally in the cascade (behind Ether, Bitcoin and Solana).

Three dated events shape the coming week. US Consumer Price Index data is scheduled midweek at 12:30 UTC, with retail sales and producer prices later and bank earnings opening the US session — the first real test of whether the September minutes' hawkish tilt was a warning or a warning shot (MarketAlleys, Oct 11). Evernorth's Nasdaq debut under "XRPN" is set for the start of the coming week after deferring from its original date, with the company intending to ring the closing bell shortly afterwards — the first public mark on a 473-million-XRP treasury. And the technical grid has inverted from a fortnight ago: XRP enters the week below its 7-day ($1.45), 20-day ($1.49) and 50-day ($1.43) averages, above only the 200-day at $1.28, with resistance at $1.42 and $1.44 and support at $1.38 and $1.36 (TokenPost; Blockchain.News, Oct 10). The level that decides the next edition's shape is $1.28.

The honest summary of the week's data is that two datasets moved in opposite directions and only one of them was XRP's price. Flows into the regulated wrapper stayed positive for a thirteenth week; the ledger switched on the two institutional primitives it had been promising for a year; a named Wall Street mandate was signed; and RLUSD crossed a level while the ledger's stablecoin mix stayed exactly as concentrated as the last dated read showed, with one issuer holding ~93% of it. None of it prevented an 8.3% decline driven by a Fed minutes release and a $1.1 billion market-wide liquidation cascade in which XRP's own leveraged cohort barely featured. Both halves of that sentence are true, and the edition that carries only one of them is not a data report.

FAQ

Why is the escrow metric identical to last week's?

Because no escrow cycle ran in this window. XRP's escrow release executes monthly, and October's ran on the first of the month — inside the prior edition's coverage. Nothing new was published in Oct 5–11, so the post-relock XRPScan read of 31.54 billion XRP stands with its Oct 1 date rather than being restated as current. Carrying a dated number honestly is the policy; re-dating it is not.

XRP fell 8.3% — why did open interest fall only a little?

Because the decline was not an XRP leverage event. Full-market open interest ended at $3.15B, down about a quarter from September's $4.10B record but only 1.63% on the day, and XRP's own liquidations were around $34M over 24 hours against $1.12 billion liquidated market-wide on Oct 8. Funding at 0.0011% on the 8-hour clock is the signature of an unwind that has finished rather than one in progress. The structure of the week was a macro de-risking that used XRP as liquid inventory, not a leveraged XRP position being flushed.

Is the $200M+ ETF gap a problem?

It is a mark, not a loss. The complex's net assets ($1.57B) sit below cumulative contributed capital ($1.80B) because the book was built through August's rally and is now priced at a lower XRP. Holders have not been redeemed — inflows were positive for a 13th straight week. The gap closes when price rises or when contributions stop; the first is preferable and the second is what the streak exists to detect.

Is this financial advice?

No. XRPLinsights publishes research and commentary for informational purposes. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell XRP or any other asset.
