A note on the scorecard

Starting this edition, Weekly Intelligence runs under the site's fully sourced data policy: every figure we publish traces to a named public source, and every prediction we log is scored against published, verifiable outcomes. The historical scorecard was built on the earlier data program and does not carry over cleanly to sourced baselines — so the record resets to zero this week. The questions stay the same five; the accountability is now stricter.

Question 1 — Network: is the ledger healthy if activity is rising but users are leaving?

The week's on-chain numbers put the tension in one line: 2.4M daily transactions (+21% YoY) and DEX volume +79% YoY, against active accounts −40% YoY. Activated accounts stand at 8.02M (XRPScan, Jul 26) and all-time burn at 14.37M XRP.

Read: the ledger is not shrinking — it is concentrating. Activity per active account has roughly doubled year over year, which is the signature of recurring, programmatic, settlement-shaped flow: the exact profile of the RLUSD corridor traffic and market-making that grew all year. The retail long tail, meanwhile, thinned out with the token's slide from $1.90 to $1.06 and back to $1.37. Both facts are real, and both matter: institutional health is up, distribution breadth is down. The health read for the ledger is positive; the read for token demand breadth is not.

Question 2 — Stablecoins: what is actually minting RLUSD to $2.32B?

RLUSD crossed $2.32B, up 1,278% year to date, with cumulative volume past $9B (RWA.xyz via crypto.news). The chain split: ~$963M on XRPL, ~$1.1B on Ethereum (RWA.xyz via Finobird, Aug 27) — the XRPL share up from 18.4% at the start of the year, and RLUSD now over 90% of XRPL's stablecoin supply.

Read: the minting is settlement, not speculation. The 2026 integration list — JPMorgan, Mastercard, Convera, Interactive Brokers — plus Ripple Mint's institutional issuance infrastructure and the Japan/MiCA/Korea regulatory clearances, all point at treasury and payment calendars. The test that matters for XRP holders is the chain split: every incremental dollar of RLUSD that moves to XRPL is activity whose fees burn XRP. The share has roughly doubled in eight months; the absolute XRPL-side number is the one to watch next.

Question 3 — DeFi: does the FXRP vault decision change the collateral story?

Sentora approved FXRP as the first XRP collateral for a $280M RLUSD vault on Ethereum — reported this week, and the first lending-scale wiring of XRP into RLUSD credit infrastructure.

Read: it is a template more than a milestone. One vault at $280M does not move an $85B asset; a repeatable structure does. If the FXRP-collateral model extends — more vaults, native XRPL lending through the XLS-65/XLS-66 single-asset vault and lending proposals — the ecosystem gains its first real loop where XRP the collateral and RLUSD the credit instrument need each other. Watch usage data, not the approval: an unused vault is a press release, a used one is a demand source.

Question 4 — Payments: what did the institutional year actually build?

The payments column's year-in-review items surfaced again this week: RLUSD integrations at JPMorgan, Mastercard, Convera and Interactive Brokers — settlement, not trading — alongside Ripple Mint for institutional issuance and a strategic investment into an institutional network handling over $2 trillion annualized. Distribution: Binance (Jan), OKX (Apr 29), Gate.io (Jun 15), all four Korean majors, Japan's SBI VC Trade (Jun 24), full MiCA CASP (Jul).

Read: the year built rails, and rails are measured in availability, not volume: RLUSD is now mintable, redeemable, cleared and listed across the US institutional stack, the EU, Japan and Korea simultaneously — a regulatory footprint no other dollar stablecoin of its size has. The 2.4M-transactions figure in Question 1 is what those rails look like when they run. The open question is fee capture: settlement on RLUSD rails enriches the issuer and the network marginally, not the token, unless the XRPL share keeps climbing.

Question 5 — Outlook: what does the September 16 decision actually decide?

XRP sits at $1.37, under the $1.42 trendline resistance that capped the week, above the $1.31–$1.38 whale zone (≈4.8B XRP of accumulated cost basis per Ali Martinez) and the 200-day EMA near $1.36. Open interest at $3.06B with funding at +0.01% — present, not crowded. Fear & Greed at 69–71.

Read: the Fed decision decides the tape's direction; the market decides the structure. A risk-positive outcome with XRP through $1.42 opens $1.50 and the $1.65–$1.70 supply zone, and would confirm that the ETF complex's post-streak buying (three green sessions Sep 8–10, +$19.0M) was positioning, not drift. A hawkish surprise that breaks $1.31 on volume invalidates the demand-zone thesis and puts $1.26 and the $1.21 EMA cluster in play. The structural tells — ETF flows and RLUSD issuance — run on calendars independent of either outcome.

FAQ

Why did the scorecard reset to zero?

The previous scorecard tracked predictions made under this site's earlier internal data program. Under the new fully sourced policy, every call is logged with a named, verifiable scoring source — daily OHLC, SoSoValue flow history, RWA.xyz supply. Old calls did not specify verifiable scoring sources consistently, so rather than grade them loosely, the record restarts this week at 0 for 0.

Is the drop in active accounts bearish for XRP?

It is bearish for one specific thing — the breadth of retail token demand — and neutral-to-positive for ledger health, because transactions (+21% YoY) and DEX volume (+79% YoY) are up sharply on 40% fewer active accounts. The honest framing: the ledger is institutionalizing, and token demand is consolidating. Those are different claims with different implications.

What is the significance of RLUSD's XRPL share rising?

RLUSD pays XRPL fees in XRP and settles on-ledger, so each dollar of RLUSD supply that migrates from Ethereum to XRPL converts stablecoin growth into XRP-ledger activity. The share has climbed from 18.4% of issuance at the start of 2026 to roughly half (~$963M on XRPL as of Aug 27). It is the most direct structural link between RLUSD's growth and the token.

What would make the ETF divergence story resolve bullish?

Two published confirmations: flows staying positive through a macro-negative tape (proving the buyers are calendar-driven, not momentum-driven), and net assets converging back toward contributed capital as price recovers — the $250M mark-to-market gap closing from the price side while inflows continue.

Is this financial advice?

No. XRPLinsights publishes research and commentary for informational purposes. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell XRP or any other asset.
